| At the age of thirteen Domenico steps into a gym and there he meets his trainer Eugenio Agnuzzi, with who he will immediately feel close. After one year of gym, in March 1996 , he debuts as a cadet and becomes “First Punches” Italian Champion.
During his Amateur boxing experience, between 1996 and 2001, Spada becomes 3 times Italian Champion and gets 4 golden medals with the Italian National Boxing Team. In 2002 Spada becomes a Professional Boxer and on the 26th of December 2004 he wins his first Junior IBF World Title against boxer Kaligula. On March 2005 he defends his Title against the Russian boxer Bouchev, and in 2006 he becomes Italian Middle Weight Champion against boxer Lombardi. Powerful and willing, “Vulcano” is one of the best boxing realty in Italy. Through his toughness and the sapient guide of Coach Eugenio Agnuzzi, Domenico reaches important goals. Fighting often outdoor proves his cleverness. The 15 December 2006 he faces good boxer in Germany and wins the vacant International WBC Title against Karagol in Germany at the Sporthalle of Alsterdorf in Amburg. After this he put up for grabs his title challenging the European Union Champion Mahir Oral. The match, disputed always in Amburg, although Domenico showed good skills and a good performance, ended with a verdict loser for the Italian boxer.
In any case the verdict loser was for split decision. This means that it was not a unanimous decision. A rematch never took place because Oral left his titles vacant.
The International WBC Title has been newly contended between Spada and the Turkish Aguzum once more in Germany (Berlin). A very short match that KO’d Aguzum after only one minute of round 1 although Aguzum had a good palmares: 34 Wins , 3 Loss.
While waiting a challenge for the Vacant European Title, or waiting for a European o World chance, Spada easily defeated by points Patrik Hruska, the southpaw boxer from Czech Republic on the 22 of December 2007 in Latina. The 15 December 2008 at the Casinò Campione D’Italia he defeats by points the Belgian boxer Jamel Bahki. The well skilled Belgian boxer puts Spada into trouble with his good left straight punch, but in the end of the hard match Spada comes out deservedly victorious.
Once more at Campione D’Italia , the 1 July 2008, after 12 tough and intense rounds, Spada faces and wins over the quoted and unbeaten Polish boxer Marius Cendrowski. The 2 December 2008 in Pisa’s Palasport win by KO in Round 3 against the expert Czech boxer Roman Vanicky. The 25 April 2009 in Ancona he wins in round 5 over the hostile southpaw Slovak boxer Blazo.
The 11th of July 2009 in the “F1 Arena” in Nurburgring, Germany, Domenico faced Sebastian Zbik for the World WBC Middle Weight Interim Title . After fighting for 12 hard and endless rounds the judges decided that Sebastian Zbik had to be the winner, despite the higher number of punches thrown by Domenico and landed. The 5th of February 2010 in Fuscaldo(CS) after 59’’ Spada KO’s the good Hungarian boxer Nagy. With a terrific left hook Domenico wins this match that is a appointment to rematch Sebastian Zbik for the World Tiltle in April.
The 17th of April 2010 in the Bordelandhalle of Magdeburgh Domenico has a bad evening and looses again against Sebastian Zbik. The German boxer seems to have improved his skills. This added to the bad day of Domenico Spada makes Sebatian Zbik win clearly the 12 rounds. The 30th of July, in the reentry match, Spada faced in Pomezia the good fighter Jozsef Matolcsi in 8 rounds. A good test for Domenico since the score record of his opponent Matolcsi: 39 matches 26 wins (18 KO) and Superwelter World Champion WBF. Recently up to be contender for the European Title of the Middle Weights ( he should match the winner between Macklin and Barker), Spada faces and brilliantly wins over the Latvian boxer Ruslan Pojonisevs, an insidious tester with 9KO over 12 Wins, with a lightning KO in round 2. A match with no mistakes, with an excellent physical and mental shape that proves the intense work Domenico is doing with his staff.
